  • Now there are so many good Christians out there who try their best to help others and lead a life with good values. However most of the people on here preaching the guy is going to hell are the other kind. This monk sacrificed himself to help his people and hurt no others.

  • Unfortunately true. However, at least he spread the word and didn't just fight them himself. Had he done that he would end up dead anyway and no one would know the difference. So maybe the Chinese were glad he cooked himself, however they are probably not happy it got out.

  • Good point. The sad part is if he stood up to the Chinese directly he probably would have been tortured and killed anyhow and no one would have known. At least this action has spread the word.

  • On the contrary. His one action has reached around the world and people are talking. Maybe it isn't going to be the end but at least it isn't being ignored. He felt he had to do something to get help for his people. HE could try to fight them but would inevitably die anyway for resisting.

  • Its ok to let the people preach about the bible so long as we know the monk had his own beliefs and only he knows where he is at right now. No one knows who is right or wrong until that final fateful day arrives. So he died for what he believed in.

  • I find it strange that the more "Christian" you supposedly are the more you like to tell people they are going to hell, the more judgemental, the most right you think you are. WWJD? I don't think he acted all high and mighty, no he was more humble.
